Mead is…Honey Wine!
Mead is made by fermenting honey and optionally adding fruit (melomel), spices (metheglin), and more. Honey is used in place of sugar for the fermentation process. Similar to wine, meads can be made in a dry, semi-sweet or sweet style. See Wikipedia for a brief description of mead.
